HIV Prevention, Care & Treatment Linkage Program

CHIYN INITIATIVE is tenaciously at work with Heartland Alliance Nigeria in identifying high-risk men, most at-risk populations, and other vulnerable groups. Through its HIV Intervention Program, CHIYN implements community-led HIV awareness, prevention, and treatment linkage initiatives tailored for marginalized individuals. CHIYN promotes safer sexual practices, access to HIV testing, PrEP, and ART, while training health workers to provide inclusive and non-discriminatory services. This program reduces stigma and ensures that marginalized individuals have equal access to life-saving healthcare.

Gender Justice & Human Rights Advocacy Program

Under its Gender and Human Rights Programming, CHIYN works to advance gender equality, challenge harmful norms, and promote the human rights of marginalized groups. The organization conducts community dialogues, advocacy workshops, and campaigns that sensitize the public and decision-makers on gender diversity and inclusion. It also builds the capacity of activists and leaders to engage in advocacy and policy reform for equal rights and protection under the law.

Access to Justice & Legal Support Program

CHIYN’s Access to Justice Program provides legal aid and paralegal support to survivors of violence, discrimination, and other human rights abuses. CHIYN helps survivors report violations, pursue justice, and ensure accountability for perpetrators. Through its legal literacy sessions, CHIYN educates community members about their rights and empowers them to seek redress when those rights are violated. CHIYN also partners and collaborates with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Rayuwasac Referral Center to strengthen response mechanisms, facilitate case referrals, and ensure that survivors receive timely, comprehensive, and rights-based support.

Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihoods Program

In promoting economic inclusion, CHIYN runs Income Generating and Empowerment Activities that provide vocational skills training, entrepreneurship development, and seed funding for marginalized individuals, especially women and PWDs. These initiatives build self-reliance, reduce poverty and vulnerability, and empower participants to start small businesses or engage in sustainable livelihoods that improve their financial independence.

Safe Housing & Crisis Response Program

For marginalized individuals facing homelessness, threats, or displacement due to their identity, CHIYN provides Safe Accommodation Services. The safe space offers temporary shelter, basic needs, and counseling to those in crisis, creating a secure environment where individuals can heal and plan for long-term reintegration or relocation.

Advocacy, Visibility & Social Inclusion Program

CHIYN also promotes Visibility and Inclusivity through Advocacy, Campaigning, and Lobbying. By engaging in media campaigns, stakeholder meetings, and public dialogues, CHIYN raises awareness about human rights, amplifies community voices, and advocates for policy reforms that recognize and protect sexual and gender minorities.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Program

Through its Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) initiatives, CHIYN ensures that marginalized persons have access to inclusive and affirming SRHR information and services. CHIYN educates community members about body autonomy, consent, family planning, menstrual hygiene, and safe sexual practices.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Program

CHIYN places strong emphasis on Mental Health Promotion, recognizing the psychological impact of stigma, rejection, and violence on marginalized persons.CHIYN provides counseling, peer support groups, and mental wellness programs to promote emotional resilience and healing. It also trains peer counselors and advocates for the inclusion of mental health services within community-based programming.

Leadership Development & Movement Building Program

Through Leadership Development and Movement Building, CHIYN nurtures emerging leaders by offering mentorship, leadership training, and advocacy opportunities. CHIYN strengthens collaboration among diverse identities and groups to build a unified, vibrant, and sustainable movement for equality, justice, and social inclusion.

Public Awareness & Community Engagement Program

CHIYN promotes Awareness Raising through community campaigns, media engagements, and outreach events aimed at informing the public about pressing issues, human rights, and social justice. These efforts help combat misinformation, reduce prejudice, and foster acceptance and solidarity within society.
